info@tcclc.org STATEMENT: Labor Unions Applaud Tarrant County’s Decision to Delay Rivian Automotive Tax Abatement AgreementThe decision for a 30-day delay of 70% abatement gives taxpayers more time to request information, evaluate job quality Fort Worth -- Today the Tarrant County Central Labor Council released the following statement from Central Labor Council President Brian Golden in response to Tarrant County Commissioner Court’s decision to delay voting on a 70% tax abatement agreement with Rivian Automotive:“We applaud Tarrant County Commissioner's Court and their decision to delay giving a 70% tax abatement to Rivian Automotive. Taxpayers deserve more transparency for an agreement of this size, and working people deserve to know their tax dollars are being used responsibly to create high-quality jobs with decent wages and benefits, and workers' voices are heard and respected in their workplace.“Right now there are more questions than answers, but we stand ready to work with Rivian and the county to have an open and honest conversation about bringing good jobs to our community.”###
